Dr. Joel
Managing Veterinarian
Dr. Joel has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 28 years. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Class of 1997, he is passionate about partnering with pet owners to find the best possible care options for their animals. Dr. Joel prides himself on open communication and helping clients make informed choices that fit their pets’ needs and their family’s values.
Outside of work, he enjoys raising and training retrievers for field trials and hunt tests. He also appreciates spending time outside and sharing those experiences with his dogs.
Dr. Elsie
Veterinarian
Dr. Elsie graduated in 2021 from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, Scotland. She has a special interest in small animal surgery and is passionate about learning new procedures to continually grow her skillset. Dr. Elsie also enjoys working with equine patients, particularly in the areas of preventive healthcare and dental care, including teeth floating.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Elsie loves exploring local trails with her golden retriever, traveling internationally, and getting creative with textile arts. Whether it’s quilting, sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, or embroidery, she finds joy in all things handmade.
Dr. Jolene
Veterinarian
Dr. Jolene has been working in the veterinary field since 2013. She earned her degree from the University of Minnesota and takes great pride in her problem-solving skills and compassionate approach to care. In addition to her work with companion animals, Dr. Jolene also has a strong interest in poultry and small animal care, and she enjoys taking a thoughtful, hands-on approach with each unique case.
When she’s not at the clinic, Dr. Jolene enjoys working on jigsaw puzzles, attending concerts and plays, and acting in local community theater productions. Her home is full of furry (and scaly!) companions, including her three dogs — Oliver, Louis, and Hazel — four cats named Jasper, Cole, Pepper, and Forest, as well as a horse, a goat, and a gecko.
Dr. Brian
Veterinarian
With more than four decades of veterinary experience, Dr. Brian brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and dedication to every patient he sees. He approaches care with empathy, always striving to put himself in the client’s shoes and treat each pet as if they were his own.
Dr. Brian is a proud graduate of the University of Minnesota and has spent his career building strong relationships with pets and the people who love them.
When he’s not in the clinic, you can find him playing guitar, working in the garden, or exploring new places through travel.
Dr. Brian’s thoughtful approach and deep commitment to animal health make him a trusted and valued member of our team.
Barb
Lead Technician
Barb is a Certified Veterinary Technician and our Lead Technician. She brings over 30 years of experience in the veterinary field. She studied at the University of Minnesota and has dedicated her career to supporting both patients and pet owners with compassion and knowledge. Barb takes great pride in educating clients and helping them make informed decisions about their pets’ care.
Outside of work, Barb enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, hiking, reading, and running. A fun fact: she has completed over 20 marathons!
Amanda
Veterinary Assistant
Amanda is a Veterinary Assistant who joined the field just eight months ago and is already making a meaningful impact. She received her training through the U.S. Career Institute and is passionate about providing every animal with the best possible care to ensure they live long, happy lives with their families. Amanda takes pride in creating positive experiences for both pets and their people.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, camping, and exploring new places. A fun fact: she also works at a nearby wildlife park, Fawn Doe Rosa, where she helps educate the public about the importance of wildlife conservation. Amanda plans to further her education and become a Certified Veterinary Technician in the future.
Jeannie
Veterinary Assistant
Jeannie brings over a decade of experience as an Animal Care Specialist for a local non-profit animal sanctuary. She has a special passion for working with senior patients, ensuring they receive the gentle, attentive care they deserve.
For the past 25 years, Jeannie and her husband have called St. Croix Falls home, where they raised their two daughters on a small hobby farm, sharing life with countless dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and even an iguana. These days, she cherishes time with her grandchildren and has recently discovered a love for golfing.
Jeannie describes her role as her “dream job,” and her dedication to both her patients and their families shines through every day.
Renee
Client Service Representative
Renne has been a dedicated part of the veterinary industry since 2007. As both a Client Service Representative and Office Manager, she takes pride in helping clients feel at ease, showing compassion for their pets, and ensuring each visit is as smooth and stress-free as possible. Her warm and welcoming approach helps set the tone for excellent care from the moment clients walk through the door.
Outside of work, Renne enjoys camping, biking, and riding motorcycles with her husband. She also cherishes quiet time at home with her three beloved cats — Florence, Bindi, and Sami — and isn’t afraid to admit she loves a good lazy day with them.
Teresa
Client Service Representative
Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Teresa joined the veterinary field one year ago and has quickly become a valued member of the team. As a Client Service Representative, she enjoys connecting with pet owners and helping ensure every visit runs smoothly from start to finish.
Outside of work, Teresa loves spending time with her six big dogs, her children, and her grandchildren. Her warm personality and love for animals shine through in everything she does.
Martha
Client Service Representative
With over 25 years of experience in the veterinary field, Martha brings a wealth of knowledge, professionalism, and compassion to her role as a Client Service Representative. She attended Unity School and has built a long-standing career focused on supporting both clients and their pets with care and dedication.
Outside of work, Martha is passionate about raising and showing Gordon Setters. Her love for animals extends well beyond the clinic, and she takes great pride in her involvement with the breed.
Isabella
Certified Veterinary Technician
Isabella has been working in the veterinary field for two years and is a graduate of Northwood Technical College. As a Certified Veterinary Technician, she takes pride in providing compassionate, high-quality care to every animal she encounters. Her goal is to ensure each patient receives the attention they deserve to live a healthier, happier life.
Outside of work, Isabella enjoys spending time outdoors — whether it’s taking a peaceful walk or hunting with her hounds. She also loves relaxing and making memories with her friends and family.
Katie
Veterinary Assistant
Katie is a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant with four years of experience dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of animals. She takes pride in providing attentive, empathetic care to every patient and acts as a strong advocate for their needs. Katie believes in empowering pet owners through clear communication and education, ensuring they feel confident and informed about their pets’ health.
Outside of her professional life, Katie has a deep love for the outdoors and enjoys spending time on the farm, where she connects with nature and embraces the rural lifestyle. Family is very important to her, and she treasures the moments spent with loved ones. Katie’s combination of professional expertise and genuine care makes her an invaluable member of any veterinary team.
Hope
Certified Veterinary Technician
Hope is a Certified Veterinary Technician with over a decade of experience in veterinary medicine and has been certified for the past six years. She earned her degree from Dakota County Technical College and has built her career with a deep dedication to learning and growing in the field. Whether it’s new techniques, tools, or ways to better support clients and their pets, Hope is always eager to expand her knowledge.
With a special passion for large animals and surgery, Hope’s roots run deep. She grew up on a dairy farm and spent her younger years caring for and riding horses. Today, she still holds a soft spot for large animal care and brings that love into her work every day.
Outside the clinic, Hope enjoys fishing, hunting, quilting, and spending quality time with her husband Brad and their daughter. Their home is shared with a lovable Basset Hound named Hank and a Selkirk Rex cat named Lillina.
Kat
Client Service Representative
Kat Hillier brings five years of experience in the veterinary industry and a lifelong passion for animals to her role as Client Service Representative. Born and raised in Minnesota, Kat made the move to Wisconsin in 2001, where she continues to follow her dream of working with animals, something she’s aspired to since childhood.
Kat is thrilled to be part of a team that shares her commitment to doing everything possible to keep pets healthy, happy, and safe. She takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for both clients and their furry companions.
Outside of work, Kat enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and her pets, Leroy, Gilligan, Phoebe, and Milo. Her favorite role of all? Being a grandma and cherishing every moment with her grandkids.
Nancy
CVT & Client Service Representative
Nancy is a Certified Veterinary Technician and Client Service Representative with 28 years of experience in the veterinary field. A graduate of Ridgewater College, she brings both clinical knowledge and exceptional client service to every interaction. Whether assisting in the exam room or supporting clients at the front desk, Nancy takes pride in providing compassionate, reliable care and building lasting relationships with pets and their families.
Michele
Practice Manager & Credentialed Veterinary Technician
Michele has been part of the local community for over 20 years and loves the peaceful life of living in the country. She shares her home with a small menagerie that includes Abi the horse, Ferdinand the cat, Lacy the dog, and a flock of chickens.
A graduate of Globe University’s Veterinary Technology program, Michele has been in the veterinary field ever since, gaining experience in a variety of roles before stepping into her current position as Practice Manager. She brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and compassion to the clinic every day.
When she’s not at work, Michele enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, camping, sightseeing, and playing games with her son.
Lily
Veterinary Assistant
Lily is a Veterinary Assistant with 3.5 years of experience in the veterinary field. She attended Catch Canine Trainers Academy, where she developed a strong foundation in animal behavior and care. Lily is especially passionate about the behavioral side of veterinary medicine and takes pride in her ability to connect and communicate with nervous or fearful dogs in a gentle, understanding way.
Outside of work, Lily enjoys spending quality time with her animals, family, and friends. A fun fact about Lily: she is a devoted follower of Jesus and finds joy and purpose through her faith.
Kelsey
Veterinary Assistant
Born and raised in the Amery area, Kelsey still calls it home and shares it with her family. Her passion for animals began early in life and only grew stronger through the years. During school, she eagerly enrolled in every small animal course available and developed a special interest in canine behavior and training.
Kelsey has rescued numerous pets over the years and has a particular love for working with large-breed dogs. She thrives in the clinic setting, where she can continue making a difference in the lives of animals each and every day.
Kelsey has been working in the veterinary field for over 12 years and brings a calm, confident presence to every fast-paced moment. She studied at Globe University and prides herself on her ability to multitask during emergency procedures — keeping a cool head when it matters most.
Outside of work, Kelsey loves spending time on the river with her family and dogs. She’s also an avid horse rider and enjoys every chance she gets to be in the saddle.
Mara
Certified Veterinary Technician
With over a decade of experience in veterinary medicine, Mara brings both skill and heart to every patient she cares for. A graduate of Ridgewater College, Mara has always had a deep love for animals and treats each pet as if they were her own.
Outside of the clinic, Mara enjoys spending quality time with her family, getting her hands dirty in the garden, and canning the fruits (and veggies!) of her labor. Her home is a lively one — shared with her husband, three children, three dogs, three cats, eight goats, and a bunch of chickens.

Dakotah
Veterinary Assistant
Dakotah is a compassionate Veterinary Assistant who takes pride in helping patients feel better and providing their owners with comfort and answers during every visit. With a caring and calm approach, Dakotah is always ready to lend a hand — whether it’s supporting the veterinary team or reassuring a worried pet parent.
Outside of work, Dakotah enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, and horseback riding.
Dakotah’s love for animals and dedication to client care make her a valued member of our team and a comforting presence for both pets and people alike.
Ali
Veterinary Assistant
Ali has been in the veterinary field for 9 years and brings a compassionate, can-do attitude to every shift. She attended the University of Minnesota Crookston and prides herself on being able to help any patient in need — big or small, fluffy or scaly!
When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll likely find Ali enjoying the great outdoors or relaxing at home with her beloved animals.

Bookkeeper
Jackie brings over 20 years of experience in the veterinary industry and a deep love for animals to her role as Bookkeeper. A graduate of Inver Hills Community College, Jackie takes pride in getting to know clients and their pets personally. She believes strong relationships are at the heart of excellent care.
Outside of work, Jackie enjoys crafting, scrapbooking, and attending dog shows. Her passion for bulldogs runs deep; she’s been owning and showing them for nearly 40 years!

As our Client Service Representative Lead, Britta is the friendly, familiar face that helps make every visit smooth and welcoming. With a natural ability to connect with clients, Britta takes pride in building relationships and making sure both pets and their people feel cared for and supported.
She’s especially passionate about getting to know clients personally and creating an experience that feels like home. Whether she’s greeting you at the front desk or helping behind the scenes, Britta brings warmth, organization, and dedication to every part of her role. When she’s not at the clinic, Britta enjoys life on her hobby farm — gardening, canning, and caring for her many animals. She shares her home with 4 horses, 8 dogs, 9 cats, 23 goats, 6 rabbits, ducks, geese, and over 250 chickens!

Joyce
Certified Veterinary Technician
Joyce has been a dedicated part of the veterinary field for over 15 years. She studied at Globe University and brings a wealth of experience and compassion to her work. While she finds great fulfillment in helping extremely ill pets recover, one of the most rewarding parts of her career has become witnessing the full journey of a pet’s life from their very first puppy appointment to growing alongside their families, and eventually helping them pass peacefully when the time comes. Getting to know both pets and their owners over the years is something Joyce truly treasures.
Outside of work, Joyce enjoys reading, painting, crafting, traveling, and spending time with her family.
